After three years in Bolivia,
twenty-six-year-old Mallory Davis, an ESL teacher, is returning to the United States with her new husband, convinced they’re leaving his criminal past behind and starting a different life together.
Then a detour through Canada changes everything.
When her husband is arrested, Mallory is left to continue alone, unaware that his luggage, containing secrets that could destroy her, have been checked in her name.
As the truth begins to surface, Mallory is forced to face not only her husband’s betrayal, but the lies she has believed about love, safety and herself. Along the way, unexpected people step into her path, quietly guiding her toward something she never intended to seek. In the middle of lies and loss, Mallory begins to discover that redemption can rise from ruin and that God might be working behind the scenes, even when she can’t see it.
Pulled into a web of lies, betrayal and escalating danger, Mallory must uncover the truth before it destroys her, and she must decide whether the life waiting on the other side of that truth is worth claiming.

What’s the difference? The BETA reader gets an “unfinished rough draft” of the book with questions to ponder: After BETA readers offer their feedback, I do a lot of re-editing and re-working to make the manuscript better.
This process took months when I sent out copies to my BETA readers for “What She Carried” – but the story turned out to be so much better than the original! ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) readers also play a crucial role in upcoming book releases. Authors and publishers often seek to generate early buzz through reviews and social media engagement. An ARC reader agrees to read the book online. I, like many of you, prefer to have a book in my hand, but the ARC readers need to sign up through Book Funnel (I’ll send you the link if you are an ARC reader).
As an ARC reader, you download the book to read and--- this is the important part – you agree to leave a review once the book is available on Amazon. You are not promising to buy a copy – you are promising to leave a review. I know—what if you don’t like the book? Well, that’s the chance I take by inviting you to read it. I cannot ask you for a good review or pay you for a good review. Reviews are the lifeblood of an author. So, good or bad — you promise to leave a review.
So there it is – I’m laying it out. The first twenty-five people who sign up to be ARC readers will receive an invitation to Book Funnel. I will keep other names on a “waitlist” in case someone drops out of the first group. As an incentive — All ARC readers who leave a review, good or bad, will automatically be entered in a give- away. The winner will receive a hardback, signed copy of either What She Carried or What She Couldn’t Bury (your choice.)
